The Checkpoint

To download the latest update, click on the Version number below. This will allow you to download the update file to your computer. You can then double click on the downloaded file to implement the changes.

The Checkpoint uses Chilkat software to access the internet. On initial installation you will need to download and install the necessary software. To do this click on the following link: Chilkat Software and unzip the contents. You should then click on:
c:\Temp\ChilkatRegister.bat to register the new software in your computer.

The Checkpoint is distributed and supported by Rossdhu Business Systems Pty Ltd on a "best endeavours" basis.

To bring your system up to date, you can download the latest update from the list of updates on the left hand side of this page. You do not need to have downloaded previous updates.

The FAQ section, accessed from the FAQ button on the menu bar, addresses many of the common questions about The Checkpoint. However, if your question is not included there, feel free to send an email to Patrick Colquhoun at rossdhu@iinet.net.au

Version 3.6.01 released 18 April 2024

The boat register display has been enhanced to allow additional filtering.
You can now set a maximum speed for an event.
An optional feature has been added which synchronies the boat register across clubs.
An error which prevented the uploading of maps has been fixed.

After downloading, run Checkpoint\CP_V3502.bat. This will register the new software.

The application uses a new system for uploading files to Sportspage.
New features for importing checkpoint times from a GPS on each boat have been included.

The logon process now checks for new versions of Checkpoint and downloading new versions has been streamlined.

This version removes an error message relating to updating handicaps and ensured that the flag indicating that handicaps have been updated is correctly set.

Handicaps for an event are set up when Start times are calculated. Clicking on the boat on the start time list allows handicaps and other stored information to be adjusted.

Several enquiry reports have been updated to be more informational.

When a competition number is changed, the CPYA handicaps are transferred to the new competition number.

When a boat is deleted its CPYA history is retained with a modified competition number.
